The "Hybrid" in Veritas Christi Hybrid Academy refers to the fact that we offer full five-day curriculum, with two days of in-class instruction and 3 days of students studying independently at home.

Veritas Christi Hybrid Academy at Latham Park combines the best of a traditional classroom and homeschooling:

In-class, instructor-led discussion

• Use of Socratic methods to stimulate critical thinking
• A structured environment that fosters responsibility and accountability, in preparation for university study
• Teachers provide curriculum, assignments, establish the pace, make the tests
• Class length is tailored to the content and complexity
• Classes are Tuesdays and Thursdays. Hours and holidays are similar to those of other schools.

At-home, parent-guided work

• Individual attention, instruction that can be customized to each student’s learning style and needs
• Strong influence of family environment
• Flexible schedule
• Parents help assure that students keep up, but don't have to take responsibility to teach and master the subjects

A community of learners

• Faculty and parents work together, learn together, fellowship together, grow together with a common vision
• Open, regular communication, in a positive and constructive environment that builds trust and collegiality
• Teachers establish objective mastery goals that the students grow in and realize their own achievements in. Students set some of their own personal and character goals and work toward achieving them with the support of teachers.
• Students encourage one another while working through challenging material and draw one another out in teacher-facilitated Socratic discussion.
